Sonar 2010: The Best of Electronic Music!

This summer, don’t miss the Sonar 2010, an electronic music festival with a great atmosphere, set for June 17th – 19th, in Barcelona. This annual three-day festival is dedicated to advanced music and multimedia art and attracts every year more then 80,000 visitors. The Sonar is one of the best electronic and audiovisual art festivals in Europe, with thousand of DJs, record labels, artists and fans heading for Barcelona.

The lineup tends to be more about electronic music, including house, electro, hip-hop, Avant-garde music, and many more. The first artists confirmed for the Sonar 2010 are LCD Sound system, Air, Chemical Brothers, Dizzee Rascal, Hot Chip, Booka Shade…The complete lineup will be announced soon, so stay tuned and check the official Sonar Website!

What is surprising about the Sonar Festival is that is doesn’t take place in a field, like most of the summer festivals, but in different venues around the city for two part of the festival. First, the Sonar by Day features concerts, arts, clothes fairs, cinema, and many other activities. It starts around midday and takes place in the Raval area, in the Center of Contemporary Culture (CCCB) and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA). Then, the Sonar by Night has four different locations, each one occupied by distinguished national and international names from the electronic music world.

The Sonar Barcelona draws huge amounts of party-goers to the city and the night life is event more bustling… In the streets of the city you’ll see a considerable number of posters and flyers advertising concerts and parties.
